· IL Rte 120 Corridor Unified Vision Plan, Gilmer Road: IDOT Agreement.
· The County has been allocated federal funds for work on the IL Rte 120 corridor and IDOT administers all federal highway funds.
· The allocated amounts will be utilized to improve the IL Rte 120 corridor by improvements to the intersection of IL Rte 120 and Gilmer Road.
· This agreement provides for the County to receive up to 80% reimbursement for the costs of Phase I preliminary engineering by obligating the funds.
· This agreement will give the County up to one year to initiate preliminary engineering for the improvement of IL Rte 120 at Gilmer Road.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the Unified Vision for IL Rte 120 was adopted on October 14, 2009; and

WHEREAS, a portion of the Unified Vision for IL Rte 120 was an improved intersection of IL Rte 120 and Gilmer Road; and

WHEREAS, Gilmer Road, County Highway 26, is a designated route on the county highway system and in the IL Rte 120 corridor; and

WHEREAS, for the free flow of traffic at the intersection of IL Rte 120 and Gilmer Road and such adjacent intersections, as appropriate, is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of IL Rte 120 and Gilmer Road and such adjacent intersections, as appropriate, could be improved by realignment and new traffic signals; and

WHEREAS, federal funds totaling $904,540 and requiring a 20 percent local share match of the total cost were granted to Lake County in 2008 for work in the IL Rt...
