* The Lake County State's Attorney's Office has applied for a Justice Assistance Grant Violent Crime Reduction in Illinois Communities (JAG VCRIC) grant through the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA).
* The grant term begins October 1, 2023 and ends March 31, 2025.
* The Domestic Violence Prevention Program (DVPP) was created as a partnership between the Lake County State's Attorney's Office (LCSAO) and the North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic (NSLAC). This program will address the high incidence of intimate partner violence (IPV) within Lake County.
* The Lake County State's Attorney's Office will act as lead agency, and partner with the North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic (NSLAC) as subgrantee, to provide services such as an incentivized intensive treatment program for offenders and ongoing victim support like legal housing and immigration services.
* These grant funds will offset existing positions previously funded in the Fiscal Year 2024 SAO budget. Despite having funding for the positions, LCSAO successfully applied for and was awarded grant funding.
