* Lake County owns two parcels of property, containing approximately 1.91 acres, along Grand Avenue at the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks and at 1st Street in Gurnee, Illinois.
* The excess parcels were acquired in 1959 and 1960 and are not needed for current or future transportation improvements by the Lake County Division of Transportation.
* This resolution authorizes the disposal of the parcels via a quitclaim deed to the Village and authorizes an agreement with the Village of Gurnee for the terms and conditions of the property transfer.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works and Transportation Committee adopted an Excess Property Disposal Policy at its regular meeting on March 8, 2017; and

WHEREAS, two excess parcels of County owned property designated as Index #1 and #25 (property pin number 07-23-200-071 & 07-24-100-014) have been identified as a priority to dispose of by quitclaim deed under the transfer of excess property to government agencies section of said policy; and

WHEREAS, the excess properties containing approximately 1.91 acres, are located within the Village of Gurnee municipal boundary; and

WHEREAS, the excess parcels, which were acquired in 1959 and 1960 and are not needed for current or future transportation improvements by the Lake County Division of Transportation, will be more appropriately utilized by the public under the stewardship of the Village; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the 765 ILCS 5/16, the County Board may authorize its County Board Chair to convey real estate belonging to it; and

WHEREAS, the Local Government Property Transfer Act, 50 ILCS 605/0.01 et seq. authorizes units of local government to agree to transfer land betwe...
