R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains the Countryside Lake water system; and
WHEREAS, the water system is served by the Countryside Lake water tower, which is an existing 250,000 gallon elevated tank, that is over 20 years old and is in need of painting and refurbishment; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Countryside Lake Water Tower Refurbishment Project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to thirteen (13) contractors; and
WHEREAS, seven (3) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Seven Brothers Painting, Inc., is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $166,900.00; the other bids received ranging from $170,800 to $274,800.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Seven Brothers Painting, Inc., Shelbyville, Michigan in the amount of $166,900.00 for the Countryside Lake W...
