* This improvement will enable Lake County to purchase Lake Michigan water on a wholesale basis from the City of North Chicago for distribution to residents in the Arden Shores Estates Subdivision.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns and operates water supply systems that serve various communities throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, the water main distribution system in Arden Shores Estates Subdivision was originally constructed over 60 years ago and requires replacement to meet current IEPA standards; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Arden Shores Water Main Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to 16 contractors; and
WHEREAS, four sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, four bids were received ranging from $594,204 to $648,734 with RJ Underground, Inc., being the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $594,204.
