Staff Summary
* The Village of Fox Lake has requested outside leadership to be appointed as Contract Acting Police Chief and Contract Acting Deputy Police Chief due to the vacancy created by the retirement of former Chief Michael Behan retire on August 28, 2015.
* The Intergovernmental Agreement is intended to be for temporary law enforcement personnel assistance to continue to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Lake County, until the vacancy is filled.
* The Village of Fox Lake has agreed to pay the hourly rate of the deputies and to abide by the holiday schedule specified in the Lake County Sheriff's Collective Bargaining Agreement and further to provide fuel and access to the facilities and Village police procedures to the Lake County deputies.
* The Lake County Sheriff has agreed the assigned staff of Deputy Chief Michael Keller and Sergeant Scot Kurek will use Lake County Sheriff's vehicles to perform their official duties.
* The Village of Fox Lake has agreed to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lake County and the Lake County Sheriff for any action or dispute arising from the Intergovernmental Agreement and management of the Village of Fox Lake Police Department.
* The Village of Fox Lake has already begun the process of searching for a new Police Chief.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Village of Fox Lake has requested that the Lake County Sheriff provide two experienced deputies to serve, in a temporary capacity, as Village of Fox Lake Police Department Police Chief and Deputy Police Chief until the Village is able to appoint a new Police Chief; and
