* The County Board authorized, at their August 11, 2015 meeting, an appropriation for the Lake County 2016 Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract so that a contract letting can be held for annual contract maintenance services.
* The City of Highland Park and Lake County wish to enter an agreement stating the terms and conditions for energy, maintenance, and future costs of City owned traffic control devices and interconnection with Lake County PASSAGE allowing maintenance of the City signals to be included in the County's annual traffic signal maintenance contract.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, maintains and operates, through Lake County PASSAGE, traffic signals on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Highland Park operates, and has jurisdiction over, certain traffic control signals within its corporate boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the City of Highland Park has asked to participate in the County's Annual Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Transportation will have underway a 2016 Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract; and
WHEREAS, the effective maintenance of City owned traffic control signals through Lake County's Annual Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the City and the County as a whole; and
