RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the IJJC, housed within the IDHS, has announced the continuation of a 12 month formula based grant that includes $12,913 in federal funds for the State's Attorney's Juvenile Court Services program, which will support the retention of prosecutors, in turn allowing a greater focus on diverting non-violent cases from formal court action to accountability based programs, and the reduction of overall case backlog; and

WHEREAS, the grant program will fund a portion of the salary of one Assistant State's Attorney (ASA) in the Juvenile Division; and

WHEREAS, the grant program budget includes $12,913 in federal funds and match funds of $1,435 provided from State's Attorney Asset Forfeiture Fund 7...
