Title

Resolution requesting an amendment to the Lake County Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 Legislative Agenda seeking sponsorship and/ or support of Property Assessment and Tax Reform legislation.

Staff Summary

During its January 8 meeting, there was a Committee consensus to add an item to the County’s 2019 Legislative Agenda regarding support for property assessment and tax reform in the State of Illinois.

In furtherance of this consensus, the Committee asked staff to develop a proposed amendment for its consideration at its next meeting.

As requested, the draft amendment seeks sponsorship and/ or support from the Lake County legislative delegation for measures that will structurally reform how properties across Illinois are assessed and taxed to maximize equity and fairness resulting in a statewide property assessment system that is uniform and transparent.
