Staff Summary
· The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority recently announced that the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit was awarded $85,000 in Juvenile Accountability Block Grant funds to continue the juvenile probation pre-employment program that began in late 2009.
· The Nineteenth Judicial Circuit will provide a 10% match of $9,444 from the Probation Services Fee Fund.
· The grant will be used to continue funding a part-time position to serve as program coordinator, to provide a job readiness curriculum to approximately 60 youth and to contract with local agencies and employers to provide approximately 26 youth with paid internships. Supplies and bus passes are also included in the budget.
· This resolution authorizes an emergency appropriation of $94,444, the execution of a program agreement to accept the grant funding, and related line item and interfund transfers.

WHEREAS, the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority recently announced that the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit was awarded $85,000 in Juvenile Accountability Block Grant funds to continue the juvenile probation pre-employment program that began in late 2009; and
WHEREAS, the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit will provide a 10% match of $9,444 from the Probation Services Fee Fund; and
