Resolution to approve the modification of the Lake County Holiday Schedule.
Staff summary
· This resolution modifies the Lake County Holiday Schedule by adding Christmas Eve as a holiday in exchange for the elimination of Election Day as a holiday.
· For the purpose of maintaining consistent business hours, the County will close for business at noon on December 31, 2012. This is a one-time modification.
Body
WHEREAS, Lake County has established a Holiday Schedule in the Human Resource Manual; and
WHEREAS, Lake County employees currently have election day as a holiday and with the creation of early voting alternatives there is a need to modify the Holiday Schedule; and
WHEREAS, Lake County wishes to maintain consistent business hours across the County and Court facilities; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lake County Board modifies the Holiday Schedule to eliminate election day as a Holiday; and in exchange, create Christmas Eve, December 24 as a Holiday each year; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County will be closed for business at noon on December 31st for the 2012 Holiday Schedule only.
