· The County undertakes annual rehabilitation of deteriorating and aging sanitary sewer systems.
· The 2011 phase 2 sewer rehabilitation project includes relining 3,500 feet of sewers in the Horatio Gardens and Highland Lake Systems.
· The County received bids from four (4) contractors for this work and three (3) other bids were received, ranging from $125,475 to $151,262.
· Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Insituform Technologies USA, Inc., Lemont, IL in the amount of $119,263.
· This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing Agent to execute a contract with Insituform Technologies USA, Inc. of Lemont, IL in the amount of $119,263 for the sanitary sewer rehabilitation 2011 phase 2 project.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains several sanitary sewer systems within the County; and

WHEREAS, these sanitary sewer systems are prone to deterioration and failure due to age and require rehabilitation and repair; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation 2011Phase 2 Project; and

WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to twenty-two (22) contractors; and

WHEREAS, four (4) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., and

WHEREAS, Insituform Technologies USA, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $119,263.00; three (3) other bids were received, ranging from $125,475.00 to $151,262.00.
