Joint resolution authorizing the extension of a contract with Kindred Rehab Services, Inc. (d/b/a Peoplefirst Rehabilitation), through December 31, 2011, in the amount of $120,000.
Staff Summary
· Kindred/People First has been providing physical, speech and occupational therapy to the residents of Winchester House since August 11, 2006.
· A sixty day extension was obtained but will expire in October.
· Due to the current process of outsourcing the management of Winchester House, a new bid for therapy services has not been issued and an extension of the current contract is necessary to prevent a disruption in service.
· The Administrator of Winchester House, has declared an emergency because a disruption in these services would cause a threat to welfare and safety of Winchester House residents.
Body
WHEREAS, Kindred Rehab Services, Inc. (d/b/a Peoplefirst Rehabilitation)has been providing physical, speech and occupational therapy to the residents of Winchester House since August 11 of 2006; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance, the contract was extended for sixty days; and
WHEREAS, further extensions require the approval of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, the Administrator of Winchester House, Anne Wagner, declared an emergency because a disruption in these services would cause a threat to welfare and safety of Winchester House residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an extension, through December 31, 2011 of the contract with Kindred Rehab Services, Inc. (d/b/a Peoplefirst Rehabilitation) is hereby approved.
