R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, there exists an east to west access driveway on the Lake County Division of Transportation, LCDOT, campus which serves in part the county highway garage by connecting to the east access road of the County’s Libertyville Government Campus; and
WHEREAS, the driveway is very close to the intersection of Winchester Road and the said east road; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the pedestrians, the motoring public and LCDOT garage operations if said access road could be relocated from the south side of the LCDOT parking lot to the north side to provide more separation from the Winchester Road intersection; and
WHEREAS, the said relocation of the LCDOT access driveway is on the master plan for the County’s Libertyville Government Campus; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates of costs for this improvement have been completed and this improvement is now ready to proceed; and
WHEREAS, the majority of the work is to be done by the County through its officers, agents and employees; and
WHEREAS, the contractor work and materials will be acquired through requests for proposals, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required for the relocation of the access driveway from the south side of the parking lot to the north side.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board that there is hereby appropriated $95,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the relocation of the access driveway on the LCDOT campus by contract and by the County through its officers, agents and employees and designated as Section 10-00214-20-CH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the “Agreement of Understanding” between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
