•                     The Village of Deerfield’s Police Department operates a Computer Aided Dispatch system, CAD, to improve response time to emergency 911 traffic related event calls.

•                     The County and the Village desire to share video and CAD in order to improve their effectiveness and efficiency.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Lake County, through its Division of Transportation, has undertaken the development and implementation of an Advanced Traffic Management System, ATMS; and

WHEREAS, Lake County PASSAGE is the County’s ATMS where traffic monitoring video images and traffic signal data is collected; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield’s Police Department operates a CAD system throughout the Village in order to improve response time to emergency 911 traffic related event calls; and

WHEREAS, the County and the Village desire to share video and CAD in order to improve their effectiveness and efficiency; and

WHEREAS, the County’s Division of Transportation has adopted a video use policy entitled “A POLICY FOR THE USE OF LAKE COUNTY PASSAGE VIDEO IMAGES,” providing the terms and conditions for the use of video.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Deerfield for the sharing of CAD and video data along various county highways, state roads and toll roads in and about Lake County.
