Staff Summary
· Because of age and deterioration, the Public Works Department has identified various sections of sanitary sewer pipe which must be rehabilitated.
· This project includes approximately 700 feet of sanitary sewer line along Route 60/83 that will be rehabilitated using pipe bursting technology.
· The County received requests for bid documents from 14 contractors and received responsive bids from three contractors for this work.
· Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Chicago Trenchless Rehabilitation Systems, Inc. in the amount of $80,915.
· This resolution authorizes a contract with Chicago Trenchless Rehabilitation Systems, Inc. of Glenview, IL in the amount of $80,915 for the FY2010 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Lake County owns, operates and maintains sanitary sewer systems throughout the County; and

WHEREAS, because of age and deterioration the County has identified many sections of sanitary sewer pipe which must be rehabilitated utilizing pipe bursting technology; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the FY2010 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project; and

WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, the County received requests for bid documents for this work from fourteen (14) contractors; and

WHEREAS, three (3) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Monday, August 8, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., and

WHEREAS, Chicago Trenchless Rehabilitation Systems, Inc. is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $80,915; two (2) other bids received ranged from $101,028.10 to $218,100...
