Staff Summary
· Every year the Public Works Department paints and refurbishes various water reservoirs and buildings as needed.
· This year’s project includes painting of the Wildwood Route 120 Reservoir, Grandwood Park Brookside Reservoir, and the Lincoln Well House in Fox Lake Hills.
· The County received requests for bid documents from 20 contractors and received responsive bids from seven contractors for this work.
· Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Tecorp, Inc. in the amount of $142,333.
· This resolution authorizes a contract with Tecorp, Inc., Joliet, IL., in the amount of $142,333 for the FY 2011 Facilities Painting Project.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns and operates water supply systems and sewage treatment facilities serving diverse communities throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, certain facilities have water reservoirs and buildings that are in need of painting; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Rules of this County Board, bids were called for by publication for the FY 2011 Facilities Painting Project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, the County received requests for bid documents from twenty (20) contractors; and
WHEREAS, seven (7) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., and
WHEREAS, Tecorp, Inc., Joliet, IL, is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $142,333; six (6) other bids received ranged from $145,700 to $300,118.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Tecorp, Inc., Joliet, IL, in the amount of $142,333 for the FY 2011 Facilities Painting Project and chargin...
