R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Everett Road, County Highway 52, and Deerfield Road, County Highway 11, are designated routes on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the Everett Road bridge over the I-94 Tollway is in need of repair and resurfacing; and
WHEREAS, the Deerfield Road bridge over the I-94 Tollway requires expansion joint inspection and a recommendation for repairs; and
WHEREAS, Phase II, design engineering, is underway for the Everett Road bridge over the I-94 Tollway; and
WHEREAS, the Phase II, design engineering, needs to be completed for the Deerfield Road bridge over the I-94 Tollway; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board at its meeting of November 16, 2010, authorized the execution of a professional engineering agreement with AMEC Environment & Infrastructure, Chicago, Illinois, for said professional engineering services and appropriated $175,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for these engineering services; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that additional engineering services are required for several revisions to the original scope of work for Everett Road and the addition of Phase II engineering for Deerfield Road as depicted in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental agreement with the consultant is needed, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this Lake County Board, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute a supplemental agreement and any subsequent amendments thereto, for consulting engineering services between Lake County and AMEC Environment & Infrastructure, Chicago, Illinois, for additional Phase II professional engineering services for Everett Road at the I-94 Tollway bridge for deck repair and resurfacing, and Deerfield Road at the I-94 Tollway bridge for expansion joint inspection and repair at a supplemental cost of services described of $53,161 and designated as Section 10-00123-06-RS. This resolution also appropriates $65,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for these services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final supplemental agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this supplemental agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations.
