Staff Summary
· The County undertakes annual rehabilitation of deteriorating and aging sanitary sewer systems.
· The 2011 sewer rehabilitation project includes relining and spot repair to approximately 6,600 feet of sewers in the Grandwood Park System.
· The County received bids from three (3) contractors for this work.
· Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Insituform Technologies USA, Inc., Chesterfield, Mo in the amount of $299,255.50.
· Two (2) other bids were received, ranging from $303,058 to $333,771.50.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains several sanitary sewer systems within the County; and
WHEREAS, these sanitary sewer systems are prone to deterioration and failure due to age and require rehabilitation and repair; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation 2011 Project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to twenty (20) contractors; and
WHEREAS, three (3) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Monday, July 25, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., and
WHEREAS, Insituform Technologies USA, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $299,255.50; two (2) other bids were received, ranging from $303,058.00 to $333,771.50.
