• As part of the design phase of the project, Public Works staff worked with the Lake County Forest Preserve staff to secure an easement, which included determination of a tree impact fee estimated to be between $185,000 and $800,000.
• Public Works has secured an alternate route and easement for the force main in lieu of the Forest Preserve easement and tree impact fee, and anticipates a project cost saving of approximately $500,000.
• The alternate route will require re-design of a portion of the force main and necessitate additional engineering services in the amount of $79,446.
• Change Order #2 increases the amount of the engineering services contract by $79,446 from $207,752.65 to $287,198.65.
