Staff Summary
• On June 30, 2011 there was a need to issue an emergency purchase order for the purchase of food certificates for the VAC.
• The VAC provides emergency food assistance to military veterans and their families.
• In accordance with Article 6-103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the VAC Superintendent certified an emergency condition existed necessitating immediate action to minimize a disruption in government services.
• The Purchasing Agent issued an emergency purchase order for the purchase of the certificates.
• Ratification of the emergency purchase authorized by the VAC Superintendent is required.

WHEREAS, on June 30, 2011 there was a need to issue an emergency purchase order for the purchase of certificates for the Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC); and
WHEREAS, the VAC provides emergency assistance to military veterans and their families; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article 6-103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the VAC Superintendent certified an emergency condition existed necessitating immediate action to minimize a disruption in government services; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent issued an emergency purchase order for the purchase of the certificates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Emergency Procurement authorized by the VAC Superintendent with ALDI, of Batavia, Illinois in the estimated amount of $105,000 charged to account 208-3700010-73010-000-000-000-37001 is ratified.
