· Patrol I maintenance activities are paid out of the Motor Fuel Tax fund, including the maintenance of the county traffic control signals and other field equipment and field elements of Lake County PASSAGE.
· Before a project letting can be done, an appropriation of funds is needed.
· This resolution appropriates $1,100,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, maintains 158 traffic control signal installations with interconnect; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, maintains 28 flashing beacons, 3 permanent count stations, and over 300 street lights; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, maintains the Lake County PASSAGE field elements, including the fiber interconnect network, 18 PASSAGE communication cabinets, 5 PASSAGE Highway Advisory Radio towers; and
WHEREAS, it is beneficial to the preservation of said traffic control signals and other field equipment, and to the safety of the general public, to provide regular maintenance to said traffic control signals and other equipment; and
WHEREAS, before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board that there is hereby appropriated $1,100,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for fiscal year 2012 contract maintenance services needed to maintain the traffic control signal installations with interconnect and other field equipment and designated as Section 12-00000-01-GM.
