R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County, through its Division of Transportation, has undertaken the development and implementation of an Intelligent Transportation System in Lake County, entitled Lake County PASSAGE; and
WHEREAS, Lake County PASSAGE consists in part of an Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) where traffic monitoring video images and traffic signal data is collected; and
WHEREAS, the Wauconda Fire District is desirous to receive traffic monitoring video images from Lake County by way of a VPN, Virtual Private Network, internet based connection; and
WHEREAS, the County and the Fire District desire to share video images in order to improve their effectiveness and efficiency; and
WHEREAS, the County’s Division of Transportation has adopted a video use policy entitled “A POLICY FOR THE USE OF LAKE COUNTY PASSAGE VIDEO IMAGES,” and as amended from time to time, providing the terms and conditions for the use of traffic monitoring video images.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute an intergovernmental agreement with the Wauconda Fire District for the sharing of traffic monitoring video data along various county highways, state roads and toll roads in and about Lake County.
