R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Millburn Road, County Highway 14, and Grass Lake Road, County Highway 18, are designated routes on the county highway system; and

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if US Route 45 could be relocated around the historic hamlet of Millburn to provide increased traffic capacities and if Grass Lake Road and Millburn Road, in said area, could be improved to accommodate said relocation, designated as the Millburn Community Preservation Bypass Improvement; and

WHEREAS, the County Board at its meeting of July 12, 1994 passed a resolution adding that portion of existing US Route 45 between Millburn Road and Grass Lake Road to the county highway system and designated as County Highway 14, with said addition contingent upon approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and as part of said relocation of US Route 45; and

WHEREAS, the County Board at its meeting of November 18, 2008 approved the county-funded and county-lead Phase I preliminary engineering study for this proposed by-pass and in a manner to be eligible for the use of federal highway funding; and
