Staff Summary

•                     The Lake County Workforce Investment Board approved an incumbent worker program that calls for the transfer of up to 10% of its dislocated worker formula allocation to support necessary training.

•                     The agreement will be with Allan-Odis, Inc., a commercial building and condominium management company located in Zion.

•                     Thirteen employees will receive training in real estate brokerage, accounting, finance and construction management.

•                     The cost of training is $40,950 (Workforce Development) plus $4,550 (employer) for a total cost of $45,500. The cost per employee is $3,500.

RESOLUTION

                     WHEREAS, and the Lake County Workforce Investment Board has approved a five-year plan that allows ten percent of the Workforce Investment Act formula funds for dislocated workers to be used for Incumbent Worker Training as a layoff aversion strategy; and

                     WHEREAS, the Lake County Workforce Development Department wishes to enter into an agreement with Allan-Odis Inc. for the purpose of conducting incumbent worker training for 13 Allan-Odis, Inc. employees; and

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Lake County Workforce Development Department is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with Allan-Odis, Inc. in the amount of $40,950 for the purpose of training 13 incumbent workers charging the costs thereof to account  #750-4042040-79940-000-000-000-Y2010.
