WHEREAS, the Lake County Board updates its Strategic Plan every two years.
WHEREAS, the Board used public input from six community forums, conducted in 2008, to develop five Strategic Goals that remain in the current plan, including: Reduce Congestion and Improve Transportation Systems in Lake County; Enhance Livability and Economic Opportunity; Promote a Sustainable Environment; Build Healthy and Resilient Communities; and, Provide Public Safety.
WHEREAS, the Plan identifies actions to achieve each goal, and also identifies Lake County’s Mission, Vision, and Statement of Values, which include: Fiscal Responsibility, Exceptional Customer Service, and Leadership.
WHEREAS, the Board conducted strategic planning sessions to review the progress, refine the strategic plan, and now requests its formal adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the 2011 Strategic Plan for Lake County, as attached, is hereby adopted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Administrator is hereby directed to oversee the implementation of the 2011 Strategic Plan and make periodic status reports to the County Board.
