· The County has been allocated federal HBP funds to rehabilitate this bridge and IDOT administers all federal highway funds.
· The Phase II Design Engineering scope of work is being expanded to provide for IDOT and Lake County plan review comments and for the ongoing inspection and monitoring of deteriorating bridge deck conditions.
· This agreement provides for the County to receive 80% reimbursement for the cost of Phase II.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Arlington Heights Road (County Highway 79) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the bridge deck beams of the bridge carrying northbound Arlington Heights Road over Buffalo Creek could be replaced utilizing federal highway funds provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its meeting of January 12, 2010 authorized the execution of an agreement for these federal highway funds between the State of Illinois and Lake County for federal reimbursement of 80% of the Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering) for said improvement; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its meeting of January 12, 2010, appropriated $50,000 of County Bridge Tax funds to provide for these Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering); and
