Joint resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement for consulting engineering services between Lake County and Gewalt-Hamilton & Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, for the provision of Phase I preliminary engineering services for the roadway reconstruction and widening of Buffalo Grove Road from IL Route 22 to Deerfield Parkway in the Village of Buffalo Grove at a maximum cost of $686,251.21, and appropriates $650,000 of ¼% Sales Tax and $175,000 of Matching Tax funds and designated as Section 99-00249-01-EG.

· Buffalo Grove Road (County Highway 16) from IL Route 22 to Deerfield Parkway needs to be reconstructed and widened and consulting engineering services will be utilized to study the alternatives for improvement.
· The selected and recommended consultant is Gewalt-Hamilton & Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, at a cost of services of $686,251.21.
· The resolution also appropriates $650,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds and $175,000 of Matching Tax funds for this improvement.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Buffalo Grove Road (County Highway 16) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Buffalo Grove Road from IL Route 22 to Deerfield Parkway in the Village of Buffalo Grove could be reconstructed and widened; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide said Phase I engineering services (Preliminary Engineering); and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and
