WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for boiler replacement for the Administrative Tower and Courts Complex; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to seventy-five (75) contractors and sealed bids were received and opened on March 24, 2011 from thirteen (13) contractors; and
WHEREAS, International Piping Systems, Inc., Schaumburg, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $1,815,000; twelve (12) other bids received ranged from $1,854,000 to $2,532,597.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with International Piping Systems, Inc., Schaumburg, IL, in the amount of $1,815,000 for boiler replacement for Lake County Administrative Tower and Courts Complex, charging the costs of $1,700,000 to account 101-1103280 and $114,000 to account 101-1103285.
