Title

Report concerning Lake County’s annual recertification with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Community Rating System (CRS) Program.

Staff Summary

FEMA’s CRS program offers flood insurance premium discounts to residents of communities that have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to protecting residents and reducing flood damages.

County participation in the program has secured flood insurance premium discounts of up to 15% for residents, and annual recertification will maintain these resident savings.

As required by this program, an annual evaluation report for the All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan has been completed and must be reviewed by the Lake County Board, posted on the Lake County website, issued in a press release, and submitted for recertification.
