Staff Summary
· The Des Plaines River WRF is a major wastewater treatment plant that provides service for the Villages of Buffalo Grove, Hawthorn Woods, Lake Zurich, Long Grove, Lincolnshire, Riverwoods and unincorporated portions of Southeast Lake County and major equipment has reached the end of its useful life requiring rehabilitation.
· This project will include the purchase of two replacement aeration blowers in Battery B.
· The County received bids from four (4) contractors for this work.
· Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Houston Service Industries, Inc. in the amount of $244,000.
· This resolution authorizes a contract with Houston Service Industries, Inc., Houston, TX in the amount of $ 244,000 for the Des Plaines River WRF Blower Procurement Project.

Body
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns and operates the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility in the Southeast Lake Facilities Planning Area; and
WHEREAS, the Des Plaines River WRF is a major wastewater treatment facility that provides service to the Villages of Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods, Long Grove, Riverwoods, Lincolnshire and unincorporated portions of Southeast Lake County and major equipment has reached the end of its useful life requiring rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility Blower Procurement Project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to five (5) contractors; and
