· There is a need to retrofit controls of a Chiller installed at the Administrative Tower/Courts Complex and network HVAC controls installed at the Park City Branch Court to the County’s Building Automation System.
· The Trane Company, Willowbrook, IL is the manufacturer of both systems and the only source that can perform the retrofit and upgrade work.
· The Purchasing Agent consulted with an ad hoc review group and determined that this purchase is exempt from bidding on the basis of sole source.
· This work will cost $62,575.

WHEREAS, There is a need to retrofit controls of a Chiller installed at the Administrative Tower/Courts Complex and network HVAC controls installed at the Park City Branch Court to the County’s Building Automation System; and
WHEREAS, The Trane Company, Willowbrook, IL is the manufacturer of both systems and the only source that can perform the retrofit and upgrade work; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article 6, Section 102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the Purchasing Agent consulted with an ad hoc review group and determined that this purchase is exempt from bidding on the basis of sole source.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement with The Trane Company, Willowbrook, IL to retrofit controls of a Chiller installed at the Administrative Tower/Courts Complex and network HVAC controls installed at the Park City Branch Court to the County’s Building Automation System in the amount of $62,575, charging $52,000 to 101-1103910-82020 and $10,575 to 101-1103285-82020-000-000-000-11108.
