Staff Summary
• Change orders that exceed 10% of the original contract amount must be reviewed and approved by the PWT and FA Committees. The following three change orders associated with the Deerfield Road Forcemain Relocation Project totaled $22,320.60 and exceeded 10% of the contract.
o Change Order No. 1 is in the amount of $5,800 to remove guardrails, which were not indicated on the construction drawings.
o Change Order No. 2 is in the amount of $7,520.60 to install additional piping, not indicated on the construction drawings, necessary to connect the existing forcemain with the newly constructed forcemain.
o Change Order No. 3 is in the amount of $9,000 to install required traffic impact attenuators, which were not indicated on the construction drawings.
• These three change orders increase the amount of the construction contract by $22,320.60 from $182,871 to $205,191.60 or 12% of original contract amount.
