Staff Summary
· Lake County has received a $208,333 Adult Treatment Drug Court grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for the period September 30, 2010 - September 29, 2011 to enhance the Therapeutic and Intensive Monitoring (TIM) Court through the implementation of recovery coaching and post-treatment follow-up activities.
· The 19th Judicial Circuit will use the grant funds to contract with recovery coaches hired and trained by the Haymarket Center. Intensive case management services provided by the coaches will include two evidence-based practices: motivational interviewing and contingency management.
· There is no local match for this grant.
· Upon the successful completion of the first year, this grant is renewable in the amount of $208,333 for two additional years
· This resolution authorizes the acceptance of the grant and appropriates the $208,333 in new funding.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment provides funds to enhance adult treatment drug courts; and
WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit began a drug court program known as the Therapeutic and Intensive Monitoring (TIM) Court in 2005; and
WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit sought a $208,333 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to reduce criminal behavior and improve recovery outcomes among TIM Court participants; and
