Staff Summary
* The $10,417 Illinois Department of Public Health grant will be used to fund supplies and offset existing staff salary and fringe benefits.
* The $10,417 in additional grant funding represents an increase in funding for an existing grant and has not been previously appropriated because the grant resources were secured after the County's adoption of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget.
* The grant award will be for the period July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
* If grant funding for the services end, and new funding is not secured, the services will be eliminated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has received a grant increase delivered by our Prevention Unit; and
WHEREAS, these dollars will provide an increase in services to Lake County with no impact on local taxes; and
WHEREAS, this grant amount totaling $10,417 in additional grant funding represents an increase in funding for an existing grant and has not been previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget; and
WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation will be fully offset by the above referenced items thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $10,417 is hereby authorized in the Health Department budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the revenue budgets as identified on the attached listing be modified as provided by increased funding from the following:
Illinois Department of Public Health - Quality of Life, $10,417.
