RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Pulaski Drive, County Highway 78, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, Lake County believes it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public to resurface Pulaski Drive, from Illinois Route 43 to Illinois Route 131, and to repair the Pulaski Drive Bridge over US Route 41 and the Union Pacific Railroad; and
WHEREAS, Phase II design engineering services are required for these improvements; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide Phase II design engineering services for said proposed resurfacing and bridge repairs; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and
WHEREAS, IMEG Consultants Corporation, Gurnee, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of these Phase II design engineering services; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and hereby directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement, and any amendments, between Lake County and IMEG Consultants Corporation, Gurnee, Illinois, at a maximum amount of $440,683, for professional engineering services for the resurfacing of Pulaski Drive, from Illinois Route 43 to Illinois Route 131, and the repair of the Pulaski Drive Bridge over US Route 41 and the Union Pacific Railroad, a draft copy of which is attached hereto; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated $529,000 of Matching Tax funds for these Phase II design engineering services, and designated as Section 23-00196-11-RS; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
