Staff Summary
* The Lake County State's Attorney's Office (LCSAO) has been awarded $20,000 as a subaward from A Safe Place in order to assist with staff education and community awareness of domestic violence resources and programs.
* The grant term is July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
* LCSAO will use funds in the amount of $20,000 to cover the printed materials for community awareness and victim resources, along with trainings for SAO prosecutors and victim specialists that work on domestic violence cases.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County State's Attorney's Office has been awarded funding, to enhance their domestic violence program, by A Safe Place for the time period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, in the amount of $20,000; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County State's Attorney's Office will use this funding to create printed materials for victim and community awareness, and to fund trainings for domestic violence staff; and
WHEREAS, the subaward from A Safe Place was awarded to them by the Illinois Department of Human Services and is in the amount of $20,000 and it is necessary to emergency appropriate this amount; and
WHEREAS, the State's Attorney's Office recommends that the Chair of the County Board, the State's Attorney and the Treasurer be authorized to execute the necessary documents to accept and execute the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the grant awarded to the Lake County State's Attorney's Office by A Safe Place is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an emergency appropriation of $20,000 is hereby authorized for both revenue and expenses as indicated in the attachment; and
