Staff Summary
* In 2022, Lake County and the City of North Chicago jointly applied for Community Project Funding for the site cleanup at Sheridan Crossing from Congressman Brad Schneider's Office.
* Lake County was notified on March 3, 2023 that our Community Project Funding was awarded through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
* Lake County staff has worked with the City of North Chicago on collecting necessary application information and completing a Federal environmental review in preparation for the award.
* Upon resolution approval, staff will work with the City of North Chicago on the development of an intergovernmental agreement that will establish the working relationship and guidelines for fund use on the Sheridan Crossing remediation project.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, in 2022, Lake County and the City of North Chicago jointly applied for Community Project Funding from Congressman Brad Schneider's Office; and
WHEREAS, Lake County was notified on March 3, 2023 that our joint Community Project Funding was awarded through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and
WHEREAS, Lake County staff has worked with the City of North Chicago on collecting necessary application information and completing an environmental review in preparation for award; and
WHEREAS, upon resolution approval, staff will work with the City of North Chicago on the development of an intergovernmental agreement that will establish the working relationship and guidelines for fund use on the Sheridan Crossing remediation project.
