Staff Summary
• On December 29, 2023, a contract was executed by Sheriff Robb Tadelman of McHenry County, and Sheriff John Idleburg of Lake County for the temporary housing of prisoners.
• McHenry County Sheriff will accept up to 150 male prisoners daily at a rate of $100 per day. The $100 per day cost provides for the housing of prisoners, transport of prisoners, feeding prisoners and providing clothing and medical care for prisoners.
• The Sheriff’s Office prepared and presented the following line-item transfers to pay for the first three months of the contract.
o $1,525,000 from 101-3007010-51140 (corrections overtime).
o $110,170.69 from 101-3007010-61080 (inmate meals).
o $34,629.38 from 101-3007010-71330 (ADP reduction, jail medical).
o $10,654.20 from 101-3007010-63020 (inmate consumables).
• The Finance Department has confirmed that funding is available in each account.
• Lake County Sheriff’s Office will bring forward additional line-item transfers to the Law and Judicial Committee and Finance and Administrative Committee quarterly.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, on December 29, 2023, a contract was executed by Sheriff Robb Tadelman of McHenry County, and Sheriff John Idleburg of Lake County for the temporary housing of prisoners; and
WHEREAS, McHenry County Sheriff will accept up to 150 male prisoners daily at a rate of $100 per day. The $100 per day cost provides for the housing of prisoners, transport of prisoners, feeding prisoners and providing clothing and medical care for prisoners; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office identified funding within its Fiscal Year 2024 budget that can be used to pay the cost of the contract; and
WHEREAS, Lake County Sheriff’s Office will bring forward additional line-item transfers to the Law and Judicial Committee and Finance and Administrative Committee quarterly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a budget amendment as indicated in the attached line-item transfer is approved.
