Resolution providing for the appointments of Jim Hawkins and Kevin Considine as Lake County Representatives to the Base Proximate Economic Development Subcommittee under the Illinois Lieutenant Governor’s Military Economic Development Committee (MEDC).

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Military Economic Development Committee (MEDC) was created as an entity within the Office of the Illinois Lieutenant Governor; and
WHEREAS, the MEDC’s responsibilities are outlined in 20 ILCS 605/605-215; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the MEDC is to coordinate the State’s activities on and to act as a communications center for issues relating to current and former military bases in Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the MEDC has formed three subcommittees to include the Base Proximate Economic Development Subcommittee; and
WHEREAS, Lake County is home to Naval Station Great Lakes and Fort Sheridan; and
WHEREAS, MEDC subcommittee members can be nominated from local stakeholders; and
WHEREAS, the Chair requests that this County Board confirm the appointments of Jim Hawkins and Kevin Considine as Lake County Representatives to the Base Proximate Economic Development Subcommittee under the Illinois Lieutenant Governor’s MEDC for terms beginning on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, and ending on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the appointments of Jim Hawkins and Kevin Considine as Lake County Representatives to the Base Proximate Economic Development Subcommittee under the Illinois Lieutenant Governor’s MEDC for terms beginning on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, and ending on Saturday, November 15, 2025, be, and the same are hereby confirmed.
