Special recognition recognizing and honoring the Citizens Corps Council of Lake County (CCCLC) for receiving the Community Partnership Award.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Citizens Corps Council of Lake County (CCCLC) is made up of the local Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTS), the Lake County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), and the Lake County Emergency Management Agency (LCEMA) volunteers; and
WHEREAS, each of these groups are comprised solely of volunteers dedicating their time and effort to help those in need; and
WHEREAS, CERTS train with and assist first responders in a wide variety of emergency situations. They conduct hands on training in areas such as Search and Rescue, First Aid CPR and AED, Stop the Bleed, Mental Health First Aid, traffic control, radio usage, and more; and
WHEREAS, MRC is comprised of over 200 medical, mental health and non-medical volunteers dedicated to improving the health and safety of our community. They were instrumental in COVID-19 vaccinations efforts at the Lake County Fairgrounds, Mpox vaccination clinics, and provided crisis counseling at the Family Assistance Center after the Highland Park shooting. They regularly participate in community events, training and exercises, and are currently teaching Stop the Bleed classes to groups throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, LCEMA has dozens of dedicated volunteers, who have selflessly put in thousands of hours of work over the last few years. They have been a vital force in PPE distribution, participated in mass vaccination and testing sites throughout Lake County, served as ambassadors and leadership roles at the Highland Park Family Assistance Center, regularly partner in numerous trainings and exercises, and frequently perform outreach activities to the community; and
