• Funds will be used for settlement of multiple claims reviewed/approved by the Finance & Administrative Committee and expenses related to the December 25, 2022 water damage to the Waukegan Administration and Courts complex.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board has authorized settlements for claims and expenses; and
WHEREAS, the FY 2023 annual budget has been used for other claim settlements and does not include sufficient funding these expenses; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation is necessary to provide sufficient funding to make the approved settlement payment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, approves an emergency appropriation in the amount of $1,350,000 in the Fund 206, Liability and Risk Fund, account number 206-1440010-72190 (settlements) and $200,000 for asbestos abatement in the court rooms, account number 206-1440010-71640 (bio hazard waste disposal) and $100,000 for a property insurance deductible related to 12.25.22 water damage to the Waukegan Administration and Courts complex, account number 206-1440010-72180 (insurance claims).
