RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Prairie Road, County Highway 59, and Aptakisic Road, County Highway 33, are designated routes on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, Lake County believes it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the traveling public if resurfacing and non-motorized improvements could be performed on Prairie Road, from Aptakisic Road to Illinois Route 22, and if non-motorized improvements could be performed along Aptakisic Road, from Buffalo Grove Road to Prairie Road; and
WHEREAS, Phase II professional engineering services are required for these improvements; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that a consultant firm be employed to provide these Phase II professional engineering services; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, Civiltech Engineering, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of these Phase II professional engineering services; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and hereby directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement, and any amendments, between Lake County and Civiltech Engineering, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, at a maximum amount of $746,584.76, for Phase II professional engineering services for resurfacing and non-motorized improvements along Prairie Road, from Aptakisic Road to Illinois Route 22, and for non-motorized improvements along Aptakisic Road, from Buffalo Grove Road to Prairie Road, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated $896,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these Phase II professional engineering services, and is designated as Section 23-00999-98-CH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action, providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
