RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, and the Shields Township Road District, the County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids, by publication, for the resurfacing of Adelphia Avenue and Birch Avenue in the Shields Township Road District, and designated as Section 23-12001-01-GM; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication and calling for said bids, sealed bids were received and opened on April 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois; a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Schroeder Asphalt Services, Inc., Huntley, Illinois, their bid being $124,515.57, based on estimated quantities and unit prices.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a contract be awarded to said Schroeder Asphalt Services, Inc., Huntley, Illinois, in accordance with their bid of $124,515.57, based on estimated quantities and unit prices, and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are hereby directed to enter into a contract with said low bidder for the resurfacing of Adelphia Avenue and Birch Avenue in Shields Township Road District, which will be improved under the Illinois Highway Code for a total of 0.44 miles, and designated as Section 23-12001-01-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 and Section 6-701.1 without further Board action.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this award be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the “Agreement of Understanding” between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated May 3, 2018, and subject to the approval of Shields Township Road District.
