Ratification of National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), Local Health Department Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance (HAI/AR), $120,000.00 - Grant Approval - Kritz

Body

The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) awarded the Local Health Department Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance (HAI/AR) grant funding in the amount of $120,000.00 for fiscal year 2023. The grant period is from February 1, 2023, to July 31, 2023. This funding supports local health departments (LHDs), which serve as chief community health strategists, to advocate and promote the growing role of LHDs in healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and antimicrobial resistance (AR) prevention and response and strengthen their capacity to prevent and control HAI/ARs. The goal of this project is for LHDs to pilot and implement the CDC (Interim) Local Health Department Strategy for HAI/AR (Referred to as "the CDC LHD HAI/AR Strategy"). This will fund temporary program staff, trainings, printing, postage and offset staff salary and fringe.
