Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) has a need to execute an agreement with a contractor for the Libertyville health center addition.
The agency received a federal grant award under the Congressionally Directed Spending Program through coordination by Congressman Schneider’s office. The award allows us to provide additional space to expand behavioral health capacity at the Libertyville Health Center.
A legal notice was published in the Lake County News-Sun on January 9, 2023, and the bid document was posted to the Lake County Purchasing website. An invitation to bid was issued and fifty-three vendors registered. Sealed bids were received from ten contractors on February 2, 2023, in amounts ranging from $758,000 to $1,127,000.
Boller Construction Co., Inc., of Waukegan, Illinois, was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who best meets the needs of LCHD/CHC in the amount of $758,000. This expense is within the total amount available from the grant awarded. LCHD/CHC has a positive prior working relationship with Boller Construction.
Suggested Motion
To ratify and approve the award of a contract with Boller Construction Co., Inc., of Waukegan, Illinois, in the amount of $758,000 for the Libertyville health center addition, and to authorize the Executive Director or designee to execute the necessary documents.
