Special recognition for Kurt Woolford, Executive Director of Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, for receiving the Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers of Illinois.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Mr. Woolford is a P.E. (professional engineer), CFM (commercial facilities management), a LEED Accredited Professional. Kurt earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Woolford celebrates 16 years of service with the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission this year; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Woolford serves as the Executive Director of the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, where he coordinates with approximately 100 government entities, state and federal legislators and non-government organizations; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Woolford is currently implementing a countywide $100M+ stormwater infrastructure program, in addition to sponsoring a 168,000+ acre interstate flood protection operation for the Des Plaines River; and
WHEREAS, the American Society of Civil Engineers, Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award recognizes a civil engineer who has rendered meritorious service in an elected or appointed position of government; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Woolford was honored at an award ceremony in Chicago in October for his tremendous work for the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Woolford serves on the Water Environment Federation - Stormwater Advisory Committee, and actively participates with Friends of the Chicago River fundraising events and environmental clean-up days.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RECOGNIZED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, hereby honors Kurt Woolford for receiving the Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers of Illinois.
