Special recognition of Dave Dato for his years of service as the Chair of the Lake County Emergency Telephone System Board.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Mr. Dato joined the Lake County Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) in 1993 and became the Chair in January 1994; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dato served at the Wauconda Fire District for 37 years, including 23 years as the Fire Chief; and
WHEREAS, during Mr. Dato’s time as Chair of the Lake County ETSB, he supported the efforts of the board and staff to implement and maintain the latest technologies and services, creating efficiencies in the processing and dispatching of emergency calls for service; and
WHEREAS, in December 2022, Mr. Dato stepped aside as the Chair of the Lake County ETSB, but continues his service to residents, telecommunicators, and first responders as an ongoing member of the Lake County ETSB; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dato’s leadership in building a vision to consolidate Lake County 911 emergency dispatch centers will ultimately result in fewer phone transfers for residents who call 911, resulting in improved emergency response from first responders providing life-saving services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RECOGNIZED, that the Lake County Board hereby honors David Dato for his 29 years of dedicated service as the Chair of the Lake County Emergency Telephone System Board.
