Staff Summary
• New IRS Rules increased the deductible required to meet the minimum standard to be classified as a “high deductible” health plan.
• The deductible increase reduced the overall cost of the plan, resulting in a decrease in premiums for the County & Employee.
• Staff recommendation is to provide employees with a one-time increase to their HSA seed money ($42.88-single; $93.20-employee +1; $48.56 - family) to offset the increase in deductible and the decrease in the rate.
