Illinois Department of Public Health increased the Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis grant funding by $30,000.00 for the period July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY23 is $30,000.00. The purpose of the funding is to assist with costs at the PrEP/STD clinics that provide services to individuals at substantial risk of contracting HIV. The goal is to decrease the number of new cases of HIV infection by increasing access, establishing initiatives at STI clinics and other sites, and building infrastructure to enroll clients. This will fund supplies, advertising, printing, a temporary clerk and training.

To approve the Illinois Department of Public Health grant award increase for the Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis program and emergency appropriate $30,000.00 for LCFY23.
